Spring fever around Kraemer House is getting worse. The seed order was placed and has arrived.
This year we ordered mostly from Johnny’s Seeds
with a few other orders here and there. We’ll purchase some live plants directly from Burpee’s headquarters in Warminster, PA in early May. Rich’s dad said we needed to try potatoes, so we’ve ordered tubers of two different varieties. We’re also adding blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry plants this year.
We took samples of soil from around the garden...
...and sent them off for testing. We’ll make any necessary amendments when we receive the results so we’re ready to plant when the time is right. A walk around the garden this week revealed the first signs of life are slowly appearing as asparagus tips are just starting to emerge.
For now, we’re just waiting for the weather to warm up a little so we can get out there and dig!
