The progress is looking great! Today, the old parquet flooring was removed. Brad, the foreman, has also laid out the plans: cabinet placement, electrical, plumbing, etc., and we are getting an idea of what it's going to look like. He's prompt, a hard worker, and is quite good at what he does.
Discovered today was more vintage wallpaper behind a facade covering radiator pipes which were also covered with this pleasing paper. It is very brittle but incredibly beautiful, with the coloring still vibrant. It appears to be silk-screened like the wallpaper on the ceiling that was revealed yesterday. The scene is of chickens in front of a fence with sunflowers growing on it! I can only imagine what this kitchen looked like all those years ago.
There will be no work done Thursday, but the replacement cabinets are scheduled to be delivered (several originally arrived damaged and in unsatisfactory condition).
